Workers hired for a specific job or a set period, or as eventual staff, are also [entitled to the aguinaldo, the year-end bonus](https://www.gob.mx/profedet/articulos/preguntas-frecuentes-sobre-aguinaldo?tab=).

- **Proportional payment.** Eventual workers get [the part proportional to the time worked](https://www.gob.mx/profedet/articulos/preguntas-frecuentes-sobre-aguinaldo?tab=), because the Ley Federal del Trabajo makes no exception that excludes them.

How the bonus is worked out matters for short contracts. For a worker on a fixed salary, [the bonus is calculated by day worked](https://www.gob.mx/profedet/articulos/preguntas-frecuentes-sobre-aguinaldo?tab=), and for a variable salary the base is the average daily income over the last 30 days worked. Delivery service partners are [independent logistics organizations, and their drivers are hired by the DSPs, not by Amazon](https://entregapro.mx/home). Each DSP is [independently responsible for its hiring process, pay, benefits and other incentives](https://entregapro.mx/home), so a DSP driver should not assume the benefits in Amazon's announcement apply to them.

Some delivery service partner roles [come with a delivery vehicle, fuel for the route and insurance](https://entregapro.mx/home), while EntregaPro also lists own-car (auto propio) vacancies, so check which one an offer is. Drivers work [routes concentrated in specific neighborhoods](https://entregapro.mx/home). Locations listed on [the EntregaPro jobs page](https://entregapro.mx/home) include CDMX, Toluca, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Querétaro, Mérida, Tijuana and Veracruz.

## How Does This Season Compare With Earlier Peaks?

The [more than 11,000 temporary jobs are 37.5% above the hiring Amazon did in the same season of 2025](https://expansion.mx/tecnologia/2026/10/06/amazon-abre-11-000-empleos-temporales-mexico), according to Expansión. For the 2025 festive season, Amazon Mexico [hired 8,000 temporary employees](https://mexicobusiness.news/ecommerce/news/amazon-mexico-hires-8000-seasonal-workers-2025-peak).

For Prime Day in June, Amazon [added more than 7,000 temporary workers](https://expansion.mx/tecnologia/2026/06/26/prime-day-motor-crecimiento-para-el-pais-amazon) to a workforce that already topped 15,000 direct jobs in Mexico. The new year-end figure is [around 57% above that Prime Day intake](https://expansion.mx/tecnologia/2026/10/06/amazon-abre-11-000-empleos-temporales-mexico), according to Expansión.

Amazon's operations in Mexico were supported by [approximately 15,000 permanent employees](https://mexicobusiness.news/ecommerce/news/amazon-mexico-hires-8000-seasonal-workers-2025-peak) in December 2025, with seasonal hires on top. In 2024, Amazon's investments in Mexico [supported more than 37,000 indirect jobs and 11,000 induced jobs](https://expansion.mx/tecnologia/2026/10/06/amazon-abre-11-000-empleos-temporales-mexico), according to Amazon's economic impact report, and an analysis by Keystone Strategy [estimates the same totals for the operation](https://expansion.mx/tecnologia/2026/06/26/prime-day-motor-crecimiento-para-el-pais-amazon).

## Can a Seasonal Job Turn Into a Permanent One?

Amazon's announcement does not promise a permanent role, but [many of Amazon Mexico's full-time employees started in temporary roles](https://www.aboutamazon.mx/noticias/noticias-de-la-compania/mas-de-14-000-personas-se-sumaran-a-amazon-mexico-esta-temporada-de-fin-de-ano), and for some people a seasonal job is a first step toward a long-term career at the company. For others, it is [extra income during the season](https://www.aboutamazon.mx/noticias/noticias-de-la-compania/mas-de-14-000-personas-se-sumaran-a-amazon-mexico-esta-temporada-de-fin-de-ano).

For the 2024 year-end season, Amazon put the share of temporary jobs from earlier peak seasons that had moved into full-time positions at [more than half](https://expansion.mx/tecnologia/2026/10/06/amazon-abre-11-000-empleos-temporales-mexico). That figure is from 2024 and covers earlier seasons, so it is not a promise for this year's intake.

Our take is that this is a large, short-term source of income with a clear benefits list and a low entry bar. It is concentrated in three cities, and no pay rate is given in [the announcement](https://www.aboutamazon.mx/noticias/noticias-de-la-compania/mas-de-14-000-personas-se-sumaran-a-amazon-mexico-esta-temporada-de-fin-de-ano). The [more than 11,000 roles](https://www.aboutamazon.mx/noticias/noticias-de-la-compania/mas-de-14-000-personas-se-sumaran-a-amazon-mexico-esta-temporada-de-fin-de-ano) are a temporary peak, and any permanent job afterwards is a possibility rather than a promise.
