The company announced plans to **triple its international workforce this year** while expanding its applied AI team by **fivefold**, fueled by booming demand for its [Claude](https://claude.ai/) models outside the United States. The numbers say it all: **nearly 80% of consumer usage for Claude comes from outside the U.S.**, with per-person usage in [South Korea](https://www.korea.kr/main.do), [Australia](https://www.australia.gov.au/), and [Singapore](https://www.gov.sg/) outpacing American adoption. In just two years, its customer base has rocketed from fewer than **1,000 businesses** to more than **300,000 worldwide**. Backed by tech giants like [Google's Alphabet](https://abc.xyz/) and [Amazon](https://www.aboutamazon.com/), the company is now valued at **$183 billion**. Revenue growth is keeping pace with hype. Anthropic's run-rate revenue hit **$5 billion in August 2025**, up from about $1 billion at the start of the year. That kind of growth has given the company both the confidence—and the cash—to plant its flag overseas. This year alone, Anthropic plans to add **100+ jobs across Dublin, London, and Zurich**, while opening its first Asian office in **Tokyo**. The international push is being spearheaded by Chris Ciauri, the new managing director of International, who joined shortly after Paul Smith stepped in as chief commercial officer. "The global demand for Claude is extraordinary—from financial services in London to manufacturing in Tokyo, enterprises are trusting Claude to power their mission-critical operations," Ciauri said. ## A New AI Power Play The timing couldn't be better. Earlier this week, [Microsoft](https://www.microsoft.com/) struck a deal with Anthropic to integrate Claude into its [Copilot](https://copilot.microsoft.com/) assistant, marking a notable pivot away from its reliance on OpenAI's models.
