[IT.ie](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/), an Irish managed IT services company, is investing €3.5M to create 50 new jobs over the next three years, and it has moved into a new 12,000 sq ft headquarters at Dublin Airport Logistics Park. The workforce is set to grow from [60 people to 110 by year end 2029](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/), with roles in technology, sales, marketing, finance and service delivery. For job seekers that is a modest number spread over a long runway, which makes the detail matter more than the headline. At [Metaintro](https://www.metaintro.com) we read a hiring announcement against the employer's own vacancy pages and the training routes into the work, and IT.ie publishes enough of both to show exactly what it hires for today.

## What Exactly Did IT.ie Announce, and Over What Timeline?

The announcement is dated [17 September 2026](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/), and it pairs the jobs with the opening of the new head office. Coverage in [the Silicon Republic careers section](https://www.siliconrepublic.com/jobs-news/it-ie-jobs-investment-dublin-hq-investment-compliance-career-development) and [the TechCentral trade report](https://www.techcentral.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-new-jobs-at-new-dublin-hq/) carries the same figures, which all trace back to the company release.

Three numbers frame the plan. The investment is [€3.5M in 50 new jobs over three years](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/), the headcount target is 110 by the end of 2029, and the company is aiming for turnover of [€20M by the same point, up from approximately €11 million](https://www.techcentral.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-new-jobs-at-new-dublin-hq/) now.

The growth is described as organic. That matters to applicants, because it means new desks rather than seats inherited through a takeover. The same release adds that the next phase of growth [may include further acquisitions](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/), so total headcount could move for reasons beyond the hiring plan.

The office move is part of the story for commuters. The new base sits in [Dublin Airport Logistics Park](https://www.siliconrepublic.com/jobs-news/it-ie-jobs-investment-dublin-hq-investment-compliance-career-development), a site chosen for access to transport and logistics infrastructure. IT.ie also runs offices in [Dublin, Cork and Galway](https://it.ie/it-careers/), and at least one of its current openings is based in Galway, so it is worth asking where any given role will sit.

## What Does a Managed Service Provider Actually Do All Day?

A managed service provider, or MSP, is the outsourced IT department for firms too small to run their own. IT.ie puts it plainly on its own service page, where the team [will act as your personal IT department](https://it.ie/managed-it-support/), managing devices, cloud accounts and the rest of a client's business technology.

The work runs on a cycle rather than a queue of random fixes. The company describes its managed IT life cycle as [audit, onboard, monitor, secure and optimise](https://it.ie/managed-it-support/), which covers assessing a client's systems, standardising them, watching network health, adding security and backup, and then tuning the setup to the client's business. If you picture a helpdesk job as password resets all day, this is a broader job than that.

Speed is how the work gets measured. IT.ie sets itself a target of [resolving 90% of client tickets within one hour](https://it.ie/about-us/), and a Rapid Response Team sits at the front line of that effort. For a new hire, that translates into a shift where the clock is always visible and first contact fixes count.

The client base is mixed. Client testimonials on its site range from [engineering firms and medical suppliers to primary schools](https://it.ie/about-us/). Its support packages combine [remote help with onsite visits](https://it.ie/managed-it-support/), firewall management, patching, printing and phone systems. Our explainer on [IT job titles from help desk to chief information officer](https://www.metaintro.com/blog/it-jobs-titles) is a useful map of where these roles sit on a wider career ladder.

> An MSP helpdesk works to the clock, and IT.ie aims to resolve [90% of client tickets within one hour](https://it.ie/about-us/).

## Which Jobs Are Open on IT.ie's Careers Page Right Now?

The [IT.ie careers page](https://it.ie/it-careers/) lists five openings, and they line up with the functions named in the announcement. None carries a posting date, so treat them as a picture of what the firm hires for rather than a count of the [50 new jobs](https://www.siliconrepublic.com/jobs-news/it-ie-jobs-investment-dublin-hq-investment-compliance-career-development).

The experienced technical role is Helpdesk Support in Dublin. The posting seeks [Helpdesk L2/L3 Support/Project Engineers](https://it.ie/it-helpdesk-support-vacancies/) with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of helpdesk experience, and it states that Active Directory and Office 365 experience is essential. Desirable tools on the [same vacancy page](https://it.ie/it-helpdesk-support-vacancies/) include ESET, Webroot, Defender, Datto, VoIP and SonicWALL, which is a fair list of what a small business security stack looks like in practice.

The field role is in Galway. The [IT Support Field vacancy](https://it.ie/it-support-field-galway/) is split between client sites and the office, and it asks for a minimum of 1 year supporting Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, strong Office 365, Azure and SharePoint experience, and the ability to diagnose networking faults. It also requires a [full driving licence](https://it.ie/it-support-field-galway/), which rules the job out for some applicants before skills even come into it.

The other three are entry points. There is a [graduate helpdesk role](https://it.ie/it-careers/) in Dublin for someone joining the helpdesk and project team, an inside sales graduate post, and an accounts assistant. Those three map neatly onto the technology, sales and finance lines in the expansion.

## Is There a Way In Without Years of Experience?

Yes, and the sales and finance postings are more forgiving than the technical ones.

The [Inside Sales graduate posting](https://it.ie/inside-it-sales/) says experience is not a complete prerequisite, and that an excellent grasp of IT is much more important. It does ask for a third level qualification in Information Technology, along with the ability to write comprehensive proposals, manage accounts and negotiate. This is a job for the IT graduate who likes talking to people more than configuring firewalls, and it comes with [hybrid working between office and home](https://it.ie/inside-it-sales/).

The finance route is the most junior of all. The [Accounts Assistant vacancy](https://it.ie/accounts-assistant-vacancy/) lists 1 years' experience in an accounting role as desirable rather than required, with previous MSP experience described as advantageous. The duties are concrete, covering recurring billing and supplier reconciling, payables and receivables, purchase orders, invoices and statement reconciliation.

That billing work is specific to how MSPs earn money. IT.ie offers clients [unified monthly invoicing](https://it.ie/managed-it-support/) on all its products and services, so an accounts assistant here spends much of the week on subscription billing rather than one off sales. That is a transferable skill for any subscription business.

For technical newcomers, the graduate helpdesk role is the door. The careers page describes it as a post for an [IT Graduate to join its growing Helpdesk and Project Team](https://it.ie/it-careers/). Many employers now say new graduates arrive without the basics, and our piece on [what new graduates should learn first](https://www.metaintro.com/blog/new-graduates-missing-basics-skills-based-hiring-what-to-learn) is worth reading before an interview for a first helpdesk job.

## What Do the Postings Say About Pay and Benefits?

Not a single figure. Every listing on the careers page gives salary as [Generous](https://it.ie/it-careers/), and the individual vacancy pages repeat that pay is [commensurate with experience](https://it.ie/it-helpdesk-support-vacancies/). That leaves you to open the pay conversation yourself, ideally at the first call rather than the final interview.

The benefits are written down, and they differ by role. The field job comes with a [laptop, mobile phone, company vehicle and fuel card](https://it.ie/it-support-field-galway/), plus a pension contribution after 6 months, a training allowance and an upsell commission programme. The sales graduate gets the laptop and phone, the pension contribution after [6 months](https://it.ie/inside-it-sales/), a training allowance and a commission programme.

Holidays reward staying. Each detailed vacancy page promises [generous holiday entitlements after 2 years of service](https://it.ie/accounts-assistant-vacancy/), and the accounts role adds on-site parking, company events and a bike to work scheme. The Helpdesk Support job adds [occasional overtime pay](https://it.ie/it-helpdesk-support-vacancies/) and commission through the upsell programme.

The hours are standard office hours. Each detailed vacancy page lists a schedule of [Monday to Friday, 09:00 am to 5:30 pm](https://it.ie/accounts-assistant-vacancy/). Fixed weekday hours are worth weighing when you compare support offers, since they shape your life as much as the salary does.

Commission deserves a question. Both the helpdesk and field roles tie part of pay to [an upsell commission programme](https://it.ie/it-support-field-galway/), which means technicians are rewarded for spotting things clients should buy. Ask what a typical engineer earns from it in a year, because that answer tells you how much of the package is guaranteed.

## Has IT.ie Hit Its Past Hiring Targets?

Its own press releases let you check, and they show a company that has broadly moved in the direction it forecast.

In early 2024 the firm set out plans to [double its headcount with 30 new jobs](https://it.ie/press-release-it-ie-to-double-headcount-with-30-new-jobs-and-e2-5m-investment/) over three years, backed by €2.5M, with roles in Dublin, Cork and Galway. That release put revenue at €5M at the end of the previous year and forecast [€8M by the end of 2025](https://it.ie/press-release-it-ie-to-double-headcount-with-30-new-jobs-and-e2-5m-investment/). It also credited referrals with [75% of new business](https://it.ie/press-release-it-ie-to-double-headcount-with-30-new-jobs-and-e2-5m-investment/).

The June 2025 deal raised that target. With [the purchase of Abacus Systems](https://it.ie/it-ie-expands-irish-operations-with-seven-figure-acquisition-of-abacus-systems/) in a seven figure deal, the company forecast revenues of €10M by year end 2025 and a team of more than 50. The customer base was set to grow by [50% to more than 500 clients](https://it.ie/it-ie-expands-irish-operations-with-seven-figure-acquisition-of-abacus-systems/).

The September 2026 release now puts the workforce at [60 people and turnover at approximately €11 million](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/). Part of the headcount growth came from buying a team rather than hiring one, which is why the new plan stressing organic growth is the more meaningful one for applicants.

## Why Are Cybersecurity and Compliance Driving the Hiring?

Because that is where the Abacus purchase pointed the business. Abacus, founded in [1992](https://it.ie/it-ie-expands-irish-operations-with-seven-figure-acquisition-of-abacus-systems/), served corporates, public sector bodies, healthcare providers and SMEs, and the integration is now complete. That acquisition [added further expertise in highly regulated and compliance focused sectors](https://www.techcentral.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-new-jobs-at-new-dublin-hq/), and the whole combined firm now trades as IT.ie.

Regulation is the tailwind. Ireland's [National Cyber Security Centre](https://www.insideprivacy.com/uncategorized/irish-ncsc-issues-cyber-governance-guidance-for-management-boards-ahead-of-nis2-implementation/) published guidance on July 7, 2026 for the boards of organisations covered by the EU NIS2 directive, treating cyber risk as a governance issue and not just a technical one. The Irish law to transpose NIS2, the National Cyber Security Bill, [has still not been enacted](https://www.insideprivacy.com/uncategorized/irish-ncsc-issues-cyber-governance-guidance-for-management-boards-ahead-of-nis2-implementation/), and days after the guidance appeared the European Commission referred Ireland and three other member states to the EU Court of Justice over the delay.

The guidance sets out an indicative implementation programme spanning [approximately 24 months](https://www.insideprivacy.com/uncategorized/irish-ncsc-issues-cyber-governance-guidance-for-management-boards-ahead-of-nis2-implementation/), with scoping, risk measures and ongoing review. Firms without in-house security teams are likely to look for outside help with that work, and that is the kind of demand an MSP hires into.

AI adds a second layer. The company's director of AI strategy warns that many employees are [already using AI tools at work whether their organisation has adopted or approved them](https://it.ie/it-ie-to-create-50-jobs-amid-e3-5m-investment-and-opening-of-dublin-hq/), often without realising the risks to sensitive data. For staff, that points to work on AI policies, data controls and security awareness training alongside the usual tickets.

> The founder frames the plan as [automating processes, not people](https://www.siliconrepublic.com/jobs-news/it-ie-jobs-investment-dublin-hq-investment-compliance-career-development), with technology used to support the team rather than replace it.

Certification is part of the product, too. IT.ie is [ISO 27001 accredited](https://it.ie/it-careers/) and a Microsoft Gold partner, and it offers clients [Cyber Essentials certification](https://it.ie/cyber-essentials-certification/) through its own assessors. Anyone who can explain those standards to a nervous client has a skill the company sells every week.

## How Can You Train Into IT Support or Cyber in Ireland?

If you lack the [3 to 5 years](https://it.ie/it-helpdesk-support-vacancies/) the senior helpdesk role asks for, the national tech apprenticeship route is the clearest alternative. [FIT, short for Fast Track into Technology,](https://fit.ie/tech-apprenticeships/become-an-apprentice/), coordinates three Level 6 tech apprenticeships in software development, computer networking and cybersecurity, with data analytics listed as a further path.

The format is paid. The [Cybersecurity Apprenticeship](https://fit.ie/course/fit-ict-associate-apprenticeship-cyber-security/) runs for two years, combines college and workplace learning, and lets apprentices earn a salary while they work toward a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Cybersecurity. FIT helps candidates find a sponsoring employer and supports them through the programme.

Entry rules are specific. Applicants must be [18 years or older](https://fit.ie/course/fit-ict-associate-apprenticeship-cyber-security/), sit an aptitude test, hold passes in 5 or more Leaving Certificate subjects including Maths and English, and be entitled to study and work in Ireland. Stamp 1G holders are [not permitted at this time](https://fit.ie/course/fit-ict-associate-apprenticeship-cyber-security/), and recognition of prior learning may be used to judge equivalence for those without a suitable Leaving Certificate.

The application runs in [five steps](https://fit.ie/tech-apprenticeships/become-an-apprentice/), from an information and aptitude session to an interview with FIT, a CV workshop and then an interview with the sponsor company. Upcoming cybersecurity intakes are listed for [Wexford and Waterford in September 2026 and Kerry in October 2026](https://fit.ie/course/fit-ict-associate-apprenticeship-cyber-security/).

Europe's cyber employers have been moving toward skills over degrees, a shift covered in our look at [how European cybersecurity recruitment is changing](https://www.metaintro.com/blog/europes-cyber-hiring-evolution). An apprenticeship plus a helpdesk year is a credible way to arrive at an MSP with both.

## What This Means for Job Seekers, and What Should You Do Next?

Fifty jobs over three years is not a hiring wave. It works out as a steady trickle of openings, and the people who land them will be the ones already on the company's radar. So do not wait for a batch of adverts. The careers page has a [CV upload form](https://it.ie/it-careers/) that accepts applications for current and future recruitment, which is the right place for a speculative application.

Match your pitch to the tools in the postings. If you have used Active Directory, Office 365 or a SonicWALL firewall, say so in the first lines of your CV, because those are the words the [helpdesk vacancy](https://it.ie/it-helpdesk-support-vacancies/) screens for. A graduate with a home lab and a Microsoft certificate will read better than one with a list of modules.

Push on pay before you invest time. The postings give no figures, so ask for a range at the first conversation, and ask how much of it depends on commission. A package that looks generous on paper is only useful if the base salary covers Dublin rent.

Think about the whole career, not the first job. MSP work puts you in front of many different client setups, and IT.ie alone counted [more than 500 clients](https://it.ie/it-ie-expands-irish-operations-with-seven-figure-acquisition-of-abacus-systems/) after the Abacus deal, which is broad exposure for an early career. The compliance push behind this expansion also means security and governance skills will carry weight, so an early move into cyber, whether through the FIT route or on the job, is a sensible bet.

Finally, check the commute. The new headquarters is at the airport logistics park, and the field role is in Galway with a company car. Ask where the role you want will actually sit before you accept.
