The 4th Annual Palm Springs International Job Fair is slated for Tuesday, August 27th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the respected [Palm Springs Convention Center](https://www.palmspringscc.com). In addition, the Acrisure Arena will follow suit by holding its own job fair on Thursday, April 25th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event will focus on filling available positions in food services, event staffing for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, and other roles. ### Expanding Career Opportunities in the Coachella Valley The job fairs come at an opportune time for the Coachella Valley, where recent data indicates a robust recovery in the local job market. The unemployment rate in Riverside County, which includes Palm Springs, currently stands at approximately **4.1%**, a notable decrease from **8.8%** during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Job growth in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, and retail has become particularly pronounced, largely due to a resurgence in tourism and events in the area. Palm Springs has witnessed a significant influx of both tourists and residents, augmenting demand for employees in retail and hospitality sectors. According to the [California Employment Development Department](https://edd.ca.gov), the area has added nearly **15,000 jobs** over the last year, primarily in these industries. Given this trend, applicants will find opportunities that span entry-level positions to more specialized roles. Employers participating in the Palm Springs International Job Fair will include major local businesses, healthcare providers, and hospitality groups. Notable companies like [Margaritaville Resort](https://www.margaritavilleresorts.com) and [Desert Regional Medical Center](https://desertregional.com) are expected to recruit on-site, inviting candidates to interviews throughout the day. Candidates are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resumes and to dress professionally. ### The Acrisure Arena's Impact on Local Employment The Acrisure Arena job fair on April 25th is of particular significance as it is anticipated to open more than **200 positions** in the food and beverage sector. This new venue, which hosts the Coachella Valley Firebirds, a minor league hockey team, plays a vital role in increasing local employment opportunities. Since opening its doors, Acrisure Arena has not only made entertainment events more accessible but has also stimulated job growth within the surrounding area. Various roles available include bartenders, catering staff, and event coordinators. This job fair will include on-the-spot interviews and provide candidates with an ideal setting to engage directly with employers. As the Coachella Valley becomes more well-known for events like Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals, the need for staff to manage these high-profile events is in high demand. In light of this demand, both job fairs bring a crucial opportunity for job seekers looking to establish or advance their careers in a rapidly growing environment. ### Preparing for the Job Fair To make the most of the job fairs, candidates should prepare by: 1. **Researching Participating Companies**: Preparing tailored resumes that reflect the qualifications and skills relevant to the positions of interest is vital. 2. **Networking**: Engaging in conversation with employers can leave a lasting impression, so practice an “elevator pitch” to introduce oneself confidently. 3. **Following Up**: After the job fair, reaching out to employers of interest via LinkedIn or email can show initiative and follow-through.
