As of November 21, 2025, the country famous for its fairy-tale landscapes, is joining Europe's digital nomad club. Get ready to enjoy the perks of a one-year visa that lets you work from Slovene soil while indulging in European wanderlust. ## **Your Slovenian Sojourn Awaits** For context, Slovenia isn't exactly storming the frontlines with this move. They've joined a cohort of European nations like Greece, Portugal, and Germany, successfully dangling the remote work carrot to global professionals. What sets Slovenia apart, however, is a lifestyle that blends affordability with stunning, not-so-sardine-packed locations like Lake Bled and Ljubljana's quaint old town. Plus, co-working hubs dot Ljubljana for when cabin fever sets in, or your inner social butterfly needs a flutter. --- Ad## ✉️ A Note from Metaintro 👇 🌍 Every job. Every industry. Slovenia's digital nomad visa is a 12-month escapist ticket that’s non-renewable. Here's the kicker – you can apply again, but only after a six-month hiatus outside Slovenia. Time to time-share between neighboring countries, perhaps? Applications must be routed through Slovenian embassies worldwide, or a local administrative unit if you’re curiously wandering the country already. While most of the nomad requirements are standard—they include proof that you can bankroll your Slovene sabbatical with recent financial records—there's a key caveat; your paychecks must hail from outside Slovenia. Yes, freelancing globetrotters, this means you can't just set up a Slovenian LLC and call it a day. Family ties? Feel free to bring the gang along. Just a heads up: Slovene offices still won't hire them, unless they plan on doing the supermarket run. You can start by visiting the [official Slovene visa site](https://www.gov.si/en/topics/entry-and-residence/) for more details. Whether you're hankering to perfect your kugel-making skills or challenge some friendly locals to a round of traditional slovene 'žlikrofi' poker, Slovenia’s digital nomad scene is crafting an enticing invite. Best pack up your roaming office and prep that Spotify sea shanty playlist — Europe’s heart is soon opening its doors to laptop warriors with a penchant for vinoteks and alpine backdrops.
