# Viewing Text History in the SMS Thread

See what your team has texted a member and whether each message arrived, right from the Text thread card, plus what every delivery status means.

## Know What Has Already Been Said

When a colleague picks up a case, the text history shows what went out and whether it landed, so nobody repeats a message or misses one that failed.

## Step 1: Open the Member

From the Dashboard, select the member and find the Text thread card.

## Step 2: Read the Thread Details

The card shows the member's phone number, whether the opener was sent, and the thread status.

## Step 3: Check Recent Deliveries

Under Recent deliveries, each message shows its status:

- Pending: waiting to go out.
- Sent and Delivered: on its way, then received by the phone.
- Read: the member opened it. Not every channel reports this.
- Failed: it did not arrive. Check the phone number.
- Waiting for reply: WhatsApp only. The 24-hour reply window has closed, so the message will go out once the member replies.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Where are texts I sent from my own phone?**

They are not in Metaintro unless you log them. Use Log check-in and choose Text as the method.

**Where do I see messages sent to many members?**

Select Outreach in the left-hand menu.

**What does the WhatsApp window mean?**

WhatsApp lets you reply for 24 hours after the member's last message. The card shows how many hours are left.
