## Description

GitHub is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of Sandbox, a secure, isolated cloud environment for agentic workloads. The role owns the engineering roadmap, technical strategy, architecture, reliability, security, and operational excellence; leads and develops a team of engineers; and partners with product, security, and other engineering teams. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, at least eight years of technical engineering experience, and experience with large-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms, multi-tenant compute, containers or virtual machines, workload isolation, and AI or agentic workloads. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 165,600–296,400 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
