## Description

Aera Technology is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work on the core of its Java-based CALC high-performance OLAP calculation engine. The role involves designing and implementing low-latency calculation engine code, translating product decisions into executable criteria, communicating complex technical concepts, and promoting correctness and quality. It is intended for an engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area who can work from the Mountain View or San Francisco office three to four days per week. Required expertise includes backend software development, core Java, JVM internals, performance tuning, language design, and database engine, compiler, or low-latency investment banking domains; experience with AI tools such as Claude Code is also requested.
