## Description

Customer.io is hiring a Staff Engineer to set technical direction for its distributed messaging systems that move billions of messages daily. The role focuses on high-level architecture, cross-squad technical decisions, quality and design standards, engineering process and tooling, mentorship, on-call reliability, and candidate calibration. Candidates should have 10+ years building scalable distributed systems in Go or a similar statically typed language, experience across multiple systems, and expertise in observability, recovery, cloud-native environments, relational databases, and performance tradeoffs. The starting salary is $200,000-$240,000 USD with a 10% annual bonus target and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance coverage.
