Krafton Opens 100+ Hire-Linked Internship Places for AI-Fluent Graduates, Its Largest Entry-Level Round
Krafton will pick 100+ AI Native graduates for its 2027 hire-linked internship. Apply by October 23, start in February, and see how its AI test works.

Krafton, the South Korean game company, will select at least 100 new graduates who can use AI at work through its 2027 Krafton hire-linked internship, which Krafton says is the largest new-graduate open recruitment in its history. Applications run from October 13 to October 23 on the Krafton careers site, and the intake is open to graduates and expected graduates of universities in Korea and abroad who are due to graduate in February 2027 or have already graduated, and can work full time from February 2027, and have no reason that bars them from travelling overseas (translated). These are internships first, not direct full-time hires, because successful applicants join in February 2027, work for five months, and have their conversion to permanent staff decided in July 2027. For Metaintro readers who are due to graduate in February 2027 or have already graduated, this guide covers who can apply, the six job groups, how the AI test works, what pay details exist, and what the wider Krafton hiring picture looks like.
What Exactly Is Krafton Announcing?
Krafton is running a hire-linked internship for new graduates, and it will choose at least 100 people across all job groups.
Krafton is selecting new hires with the ability to use AI, whom it calls AI Native talent (translated). The drive is meant to find and develop AI Native graduates across the whole company to help push new AI-based businesses built on the technology and know-how it gained making and running games (translated).
Krafton plans to make AI Native new-graduate recruitment an annual event, starting with this round (translated).
The intake ties back to a strategy shift. Krafton declared itself an AI First company in the second half of 2025, and since then it has studied how AI changes the way its teams work (translated). Its conclusion was that the biggest gains come when people who use AI naturally join the existing expertise of its teams (translated).
Krafton was also named in September as one of the 2026 Korea best job-creating companies run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, its fifth time on that list (translated).
Krafton, as it expanded AI-based new businesses, saw a growing need for people to lead them together, and in line with that it widened jobs and growth opportunities for young people, HR head Han So-young said in Krafton's announcement (translated).
Who Can Apply for the Krafton Internship?
You must be due to graduate in February 2027 or already graduated, and able to work full time from February 2027 (translated). Applicants also need no reason that bars them from travelling overseas.
- Age. There is no age limit, and anyone who meets the basic requirements can apply.
- Major, grades and certificates. There are no restrictions on major, grade point average, language test scores or certificates, though any language score or certificate you submit must be valid on the date recruitment opens.
- Work experience. People with experience can apply, but the round is a new-graduate hire, so screening and employment terms follow new-graduate standards.
- PhDs and foreign nationals. PhD holders and foreign nationals can both apply, but foreign nationals must hold the residence status needed to work in Korea.
- Past applicants. You can apply regardless of any earlier Krafton application, and an earlier application does not affect this round.
Some applicants get preference. Krafton gives preference to people eligible under Korea's national merit and veterans laws, and to people with disabilities, under the relevant laws, and it prefers fluency in English and a second foreign language across all job groups.
What Are the Six Job Groups, and Which Roles Sit Inside Them?
Krafton is selecting interns in six fields, AI Research, Tech, Game Development in Programming, Game Development in Game Design, Business and Corporate. In Korean the six groups are named AI research, tech, support, business, game development (programming) and game development (planning) (translated).
You can apply to only one of the six fields, so Krafton asks applicants to pick the field they most want to take on. Three of the groups list their roles.
- Business covers business and product management, marketing, business development, UX and UI, and service operations.
- Corporate covers HR, finance, strategic planning, external affairs and communications, and general affairs and workplace.
- Game Development in Programming covers client development, server development and engine development.
For Programming, Business and Corporate you must rank up to three preferred roles, which Krafton uses as a reference when it places people. AI Research, Tech and Game Design applicants do not choose a detailed role.
The exact role and team are set after considering each applicant's skills and results, and shared with them before they join. Successful applicants will be placed in a role at Krafton's headquarters or a subsidiary, and game production hires may be placed at a subsidiary studio rather than Krafton Inc. itself, depending on final results, with final working conditions following the company and team they are finally placed in (translated).
How Does the Selection Process Work?
The stages run in this order, document screening, an aptitude and personality test, an AI competency assessment, and an interview. The interview stage is a One Day Interview, followed by the final result.
Here is the timeline for the intake.
- Applications open first, through the Krafton careers site.
- Tests and interviews follow from November to December.
- Final results come in January 2027.
- Successful applicants join in February 2027 and work as interns in working teams for five months (translated).
Applications are accepted from 10/13 (Tue) 12:00 until 10/23 (Fri) 11:59 (KST). Access or submission may not go smoothly on the closing day as applicants crowd in, so Krafton asks people to apply early (translated).
The order and timing of stages can change for internal reasons, and each result is sent to every applicant by email and phone, whether they pass or not. Interview dates follow the schedule set in advance, and individual changes are hard to arrange.
What Is the AI Competency Assessment, and Do You Need to Code?
The AI test uses Cofa-Probe, an AI Native recruitment and evaluation tool that Krafton built in house.
The assessment goes beyond simply using AI and checks whether you can define a problem and work with AI to reach a solution, and it is held online. You can take it without any development or coding knowledge, because it focuses on how you use AI to approach a problem, explore fixes and reach a better result (translated).
Cofa-Probe assesses the process by which candidates work with AI to define problems and verify results, and candidates work with various Agent AI agents to identify and solve problems in a setting built to look like real work. It scores AI-native competency on three axes, Technique, Intent, and Cognition.
It automatically collects AI collaboration records, including source code, conversation logs, prompts, tool configurations, and verification execution traces, and a post-task Q&A follows where candidates explain their results and decisions. The tool recreates an environment similar to the actual work of an AI engineer.
Krafton has not said whether the intern assessment uses this same setup, and details of the online assessment will be sent to each applicant.
Cofa-Probe was also used at a recruitment-linked hackathon held on July 30 at PUBG Seongsu in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. Krafton co-hosted that hackathon with CJ Olive Young, and the plan was for participants to carry out practical tasks, judged on the final deliverables and also the method of defining the problem, the process of utilizing AI, the iterative improvement process, and the verification of results.
What Will Krafton Assess Beyond AI Skills?
The overall evaluation centres on three things, AI use skill, general thinking and global competence (translated). Krafton pays special attention to the potential to learn fast and solve problems with AI.
The aptitude and personality test checks the basic skills and work style needed for the job, with the aptitude part looking at reasoning and problem solving and the personality part looking at values and attitude to work (translated).
Because this is a new-graduate round, screening weighs the basic skills an intern needs in the chosen field, the ability to solve problems with AI, and growth potential rather than past experience or specific job history.
A resume and portfolio are not required, and you can add them if they show skills or experience the application form and personal statement alone cannot. You can save a draft while writing, but the saved content is deleted if you leave the application screen, and you cannot view or edit the application after you submit it.
What Does the Internship Pay, and What Benefits Come With It?
Krafton has not published an intern salary, and pay is set by the same standard for everyone, with or without experience (translated).
Benefits are listed, and they can be used during the internship too, though they may vary by the company you are placed in. They include these items.
- Latest generative AI and job-specific AI tools for all work
- An in-house cafeteria serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a staff cafe
- A commuter bus and a monthly exercise allowance
- Annual health checkups, clubs, a birthday gift voucher and half day off, and holiday gifts
How Does the Move to a Permanent Job Work?
Successful applicants work for five months as interns, and whether they become full-time employees is decided in July based on their evaluation (translated). Conversion is decided by overall work performance and evaluation during the internship.
Krafton has not published a conversion rate, and if you are not converted, you can still apply to Krafton later without any restriction or penalty (translated).
How Does This Fit With Krafton's AI First Shift and Its Earlier Hiring Freeze?
When Krafton unveiled its AI First plan on 23 Oct 2025, CEO Kim Chang-han said "Starting today, Krafton will automate work centered on agentic AI" (Business Korea's translation), and in its Q3 2025 results Krafton said it had established a GPU cluster valued at approximately KRW 100 billion to support the shift.
At its November 4 earnings announcement for Q3 2025, the finance chief said hiring had been frozen across the company, except for teams building original IP and AI-related staff. Right after its record third quarter, Krafton also opened a voluntary resignation program for all employees that offered 6 months' salary for those with 1 year or less of service, rising with tenure. Krafton described the program as assistance, not workforce reduction.
Excluding organizations developing original intellectual property (IP) and AI-related personnel, we have frozen hiring company-wide, CFO Bae Dong-geun said in that earnings announcement, according to the Business Korea report (Business Korea's translation).
The new intake sits against that backdrop. It seeks new hires with AI skills across all job groups, and Krafton posted record second quarter revenue of KRW 1.29 trillion (up 94.9% year-over-year) in Q2 2026.
What This Means for Graduates, and What Should You Do Next?
For job seekers, Krafton is screening on AI use skill, general thinking and global competence, not on a major or grade cut-off, since major, grades, language scores and certificates carry no restrictions. Applications close on October 23, so the steps below come first.
- Check that you qualify. Read the eligibility rules on graduation date, full-time availability and overseas travel before you start. Foreign nationals also need the residence status required to work in Korea.
- Pick one field with care. You get only one of the six fields, and Programming, Business and Corporate applicants rank up to three preferred roles.
- Practise working with AI on a real task. The assessment checks whether you can define a problem and work with AI to reach a solution. Practise breaking a task down, checking what the AI gives you and explaining your choices out loud. If you do not code, build AI skills for non-technical roles, since the test needs no development or coding knowledge.
- Rehearse for the One Day Interview. Interview dates follow the schedule set in advance, so prepare early with common internship interview questions.
- Show language skills if you have them. Krafton prefers fluency in English and a second foreign language in every group.
- Apply before the last day. Applications close at 10/23 (Fri) 11:59 (KST), and the site can be slow on the final day.
- Treat it as an internship. A permanent job is not decided until the conversion decision after the internship, so keep other applications going.
