On October 1, Kyndryl announced the opening of its first U.S. AI Innovation Lab in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, at a site in Frisco that is its first AI lab in the U.S., and the company expects the investment to create up to 300 highly skilled jobs in AI, technology consulting and design engineering over the next four years. That number is a four-year expectation from Kyndryl, not a count of vacancies open today. Kyndryl's own hiring system already lists roles tagged to a Frisco AI hub location, from an entry-level AI engineer post to a delivery manager for the DMV account portfolio. For Metaintro readers in Dallas-Fort Worth, this guide sets out what each posting asks for, what it pays, which roles are onsite and how career changers can train for AI work nearby. Here is what the primary pages show.

What Opened at Frisco Station?

The lab sits at 5844 John Hickman Parkway in Frisco and is the company's first AI lab in the United States. Kyndryl occupies nearly 5,800 square feet in Offices 3 at Frisco Station, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration, and the renovation cost an estimated $500,000.

Kyndryl provides mission-critical enterprise technology services, with advisory, implementation and managed service capabilities for thousands of customers in more than 60 countries. The company was spun off from IBM in 2021 and posted revenue of $15.1 billion in fiscal year 2026.

Kyndryl has AI Innovation Labs now open in Dallas, Liverpool, and Luxembourg, and the Dallas lab is part of an expanding global lab network.

Separately, in March, Kyndryl was awarded a Texas Department of Information Resources contract (DIR-CPO-6161) to provide deliverables-based IT services to state and local government agencies and other eligible public sector organizations, which can use the contract to access Kyndryl's experience supporting mission-critical government systems across security and resiliency, cloud, applications, data and AI.

How Many Jobs Is Kyndryl Promising, and Over What Timeline?

The investment is expected to create up to 300 highly skilled jobs in AI, technology consulting and design engineering over the next four years. Kyndryl has not published a yearly breakdown, a split by job type or a date for the first hires in its launch release.

Customers will work alongside Kyndryl experts through workshops, rapid prototyping and engineering co-creation.

The future of AI will be built through collaboration, and our AI Innovation Lab in Dallas brings customers together with Kyndryl experts to unlock the full value of AI while strengthening America’s innovation ecosystem, Jamie Rutledge, President of Kyndryl U.S., said, according to Kyndryl's launch release.

The Dallas lab will also house a specialized team focused on Kyndryl's DMV solutions, supporting motor vehicle agencies across the United States. Kyndryl experts there will develop reusable code and deployment best practices and apply AI to enhance solution development and testing. The DMV delivery manager works with business analysts, business architects, software developers and software architects within the DMV account portfolio.

Dallas-Fort Worth placed in the top 10 of CBRE's Scoring Tech Talent 2026 study. Between 2022 and 2025, Dallas-Ft. Worth added 37,230 tech jobs, behind only Toronto at 75,000 among the biggest tech job increases.

Dallas-Ft. Worth was among the top five of only nine net job creation markets, where new tech jobs outdistanced the local supply of tech graduates. Across the U.S. and Canada, demand for AI skills increased the size of the AI workforce by 45% to 751,000 as of mid-2026.

What This Means for Job Seekers, and What Should You Do Next?

Do not wait for the full hiring plan. The up to 300 jobs are a four-year expectation and the release gives no schedule, while the Associate AI Engineer posting, Cybersecurity Engineer posting and UX Design Associate posting are already posted. All three sit in Kyndryl's early-career track, and each either lists a degree as preferred or accepts equivalent practical experience, as the Associate AI Engineer post and UX Design Associate post do.

Location matters for these roles. The data engineering role offers no relocation assistance and needs at least three days a week on-site in Frisco, and the software and delivery manager roles are onsite five days a week. The software and DMV postings are silent on relocation, and DMV candidates must be US based to support US Government Market.

Designers have an opening here too. The UX Design Associate post asks for experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar tools and lists a portfolio as preferred, and our UI vs UX designer career guide sets out how the two paths differ, while our UX designer interview guide covers the questions to prepare for.
