Health Holding Company has announced 4,291 new job opportunities for Saudi healthcare practitioners across various specialties, distributed among its 20 health clusters throughout the Kingdom. The announcement came on Monday, October 19, and applications are submitted electronically through the employment portals of the respective health clusters within a set window. The jobs are open to Saudi citizens only. For Metaintro readers who are Saudi doctors looking for their next post, nurses or allied health professionals, this guide covers what the number counts, which portal belongs to which region, how the selection steps work, what the professional classification requires, and how this round compares with the one in February.

What Did Health Holding Announce on October 19?

The core of the news is 4,291 new job opportunities for healthcare professionals across the kingdom, shared among the company's 20 health clusters and covering several medical and healthcare specialties. The drive is meant to attract qualified Saudi professionals, address staffing needs and strengthen the ability of healthcare facilities to provide high-quality services.

The openings build on efforts to develop employment and professional development pathways that keep pace with the current and future needs of the healthcare sector. The initiative also aims to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services and improve the patient experience.

On launch morning, job seekers had trouble reaching the recruitment link, which showed an error message (404) indicating that the requested page could not be found. The same error stopped Okaz from viewing the job titles, the clusters most in need of staff and the share for dentistry, pharmacy, health informatics and public health.

Why Does One Headline Say Over 4,000 Instead of 4,291?

The exact figure is 4,291 job opportunities. The headline of the Saudi Gazette story carried by Zawya rounds it down to over 4,000 new jobs, while the body of that same story gives 4,291 new job opportunities.

A bigger figure appears in the Gulf News coverage. The 2026 total of recruitment appointments, employment-linked training contracts and newly advertised vacancies is 19,610, and it combines three different things.

The openings you can apply for are the 4,291 newly announced vacancies.

The newly announced 4,291 vacancies bring the combined total to 19,610, although that figure includes completed recruitment, approved training contracts and jobs still available for application, according to the Gulf News report.

Who Can Apply for These Health Cluster Jobs?

Applying is limited to Saudi citizens, and the positions are for Saudis seeking job opportunities that match their qualifications and experience.

The vacancies are for Saudi healthcare practitioners across various specialties, and the drive is described as part of efforts to expand employment and professional development pathways for Saudi healthcare workers.

The first step after applying is initial automated screening to confirm the requirements are met (specialty, qualification, professional classification, etc.), followed by verification and review of the applicant's data. Professional classification is checked in the first stage, screening and verification.

Which Specialties Are Included, and What Is Still Unknown?

The openings cover several medical and healthcare specialties, or various specialties, and neither story gives a count by specialty or by cluster.

Replies to the company's post on X included requests for jobs for graduates in dentistry, pharmacy, health informatics, public health, health education and infection control, especially from people who have waited years for work, and others asked about the number of jobs allocated for each specialty and health cluster.

Each cluster's recruitment portal lets you see the job titles offered by each cluster before you start the actual application process. Until a cluster posts its list, treat any count by specialty as unconfirmed.

How Do You Apply, and Which Portal Is Yours?

Applicants can review the available opportunities and job requirements and submit their applications within 15 days of the vacancies being announced by the health clusters. The clock is set by each cluster, with 15 days from the date each health cluster announces its vacancies, so check the posting date on your cluster's portal. Candidates can review available positions, eligibility requirements and relevant specialties before submitting their applications.

Applications are limited to a single health cluster only, but you can view the openings in every cluster. If you change your mind, you can withdraw your application and reapply on another health cluster's portal from your account, and apply again straight after the withdrawal.

Each cluster's portal is listed on the Health Holding careers page.

If you hit a technical issue on a portal, you can reach the cluster through its dedicated number, available for calls or via WhatsApp, shown inside the recruitment portal, or raise a support ticket by clicking the blue question mark on the site. A recruitment representative from the cluster will then contact you as soon as possible.

What Happens After You Apply?

Selection runs in three stages, set out in the recruitment steps on the careers FAQ.

The process may include a set of modern assessment tools, depending on the job and the cluster. These include an AI Video Assessment built on structured video interviews that help evaluate communication skills and clinical reasoning, plus specialized professional tests that measure technical competence and clinical skills for each specialty.

Once you pass the first screening and shortlisting stage, an invitation is sent by email specifying the test date and the steps to follow, so keep an eye on your email.

These tools aim to strengthen fairness and transparency in evaluation, improve the accuracy of candidate selection, speed up recruitment, and ensure talent matches the health clusters' needs, according to the Health Holding careers FAQ.

What Does the SCFHS Professional Classification Require?

In the February round, the clusters asked applicants to hold a valid classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and to attach an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education's Equivalency Committee for those with foreign qualifications. For the October round, screening checks the specialty, qualifications and professional classification against the required conditions, and the February wording on a valid SCFHS classification is not repeated in that report.

Classification is handled by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, which lists separate requirements for registration, initial classification, re-classification after new qualifications or experience, and removal of restrictions. An initial classification needs official qualifications, verification of qualifications issued outside the Kingdom and an official description of the training or subjects passed, among other documents.

Two rules on the SCFHS classification page apply to Saudi applicants.

Two more documents on that classification page come with their own conditions.

If your classification carries restrictions, the commission lists a re-classification route to remove restrictions. Separately, training is required for licensed practitioners returning after two or more years away from clinical practice. Sort this out early, since screening checks professional classification first.

How Does This Round Compare With the February Round?

On 26 February 2026, Health Holding offered 3,150 job opportunities across its 20 health clusters, covering consultants, specialists, resident physicians under training and nursing professionals.

That round had a fixed start date, with applications opening on March 3, 2026, and the joint recruitment campaign for Saudis in the clusters was set to run for two weeks. The one-cluster rule was already in place, since applicants may apply to only one health cluster.

The February round also included a training route for doctors. The Resident Physician Under Training post within the Saudi Board Family Medicine Program lets physicians train in an environment accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and qualify for the Saudi Board examination in Family Medicine. Whether the October list repeats that post does not appear in the Saudi Gazette's October story.

In February, applications for all 20 clusters opened on March 3, 2026. In October, applicants have 15 days from the date each health cluster announces its vacancies.

What Is Health Holding, and How Have the Clusters Grown?

Health Holding is a Saudi state-owned company that provides comprehensive and integrated healthcare services through the health clusters. It was established in 2022 via a royal decree, under the umbrella of the Health Care Transformation Program, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programmes.

The first health cluster was set up in 2017, and the first phase of the healthcare transformation was completed at the end of 2023 with the launch of 20 health clusters. Investing in developing a skilled & engaged workforce in an attractive working environment is listed among the company's objectives.

In May 2026, Health Holding completed a second transfer phase covering more than 68,000 healthcare and administrative employees, taking the total across both phases to more than 130,000 in 10 health clusters.

That phase moved Ministry of Health employees to seven health clusters, the Al Ahsa, Taif, Najran, Hail, Tabuk, Northern Borders, and Hafar Al-Batin Health Clusters, after a first phase of more than 62,000 employees in the Eastern Region, Qassim, and Riyadh Second Health Clusters. The transfers followed Cabinet Resolution No. 616, ensuring employees' rights, job stability, and continued access to their employment benefits, and employment contracts were completed through the Qiwa platform.

More vacancies are expected, depending on each cluster's staffing needs for the required specialties, with no fixed timeline.

What This Means for Saudi Health Workers, and What Should You Do Next?

Applicants have 15 days from the date each health cluster announces its vacancies, and applications are limited to a single health cluster only, so each applicant makes one choice of cluster.
