What Stripe's 200 Planned Dublin Jobs Mean for Engineers and Go-To-Market Talent
Stripe plans 200 new jobs at its Dublin HQ, including engineering and go-to-market roles. See the Dublin listings, the pay they print and how to apply.

Stripe plans to create a further 200 new jobs at its Dublin headquarters, and the new roles will include engineering jobs and go-to-market roles. This guide looks at the announcement from the side of software engineers, sales and support professionals and students in Ireland. The company now employs more than 1,000 people in Ireland, an increase of more than 35% since the start of the year. These are plans to create a further 200 new jobs, which is not the same as 200 open postings. For Metaintro readers, the practical part sits on Stripe's own careers pages, where Dublin HQ listings such as the new grad software engineer role set out what the job asks for and what it pays. Here is what those primary pages show.
What Did Stripe Announce for Dublin?
The plan is for 200 new jobs at the Dublin headquarters, with engineering and go-to-market roles among them. Stripe said the expansion builds on significant hiring growth already in 2026.
The jobs are supported by the Government through IDA Ireland. Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke welcomed the announcement, and said the Government remains committed to fostering a competitive business environment that supports innovation.
The plan to add another 200 staff, with 1,000 people already employed in Ireland, is a clear endorsement of Ireland's highly skilled and deep talent base, IDA executive director Dónal Travers said.
In the last decade, Dublin has established itself as the twin engine of Stripe’s growth story globally, Stripe vice chair Eileen O’Mara said, according to the Irish Times report.
How Big Is Stripe's Irish Operation?
Stripe established its first offices in Dublin in 2013. The Irish team now stands at more than 1,000 people, an increase of more than 35% since the start of the year.
The company was co-founded by Irish entrepreneurs Patrick and John Collison in 2010, and it works with 86,000 Irish businesses and entrepreneurs, including Wayflyer, Flipdish, Bank of Ireland, Brown Thomas Arnotts, the GAA and Smyths. In October 2025, at the headquarters opening, Stripe said it served 70,000 Irish businesses and sole traders, with 2,000 more joining every month.
Accounts for Stripe Payments International Holdings Ltd show pre-tax profits rising from $101.8m to $445.5m, as revenues grew from $5.12bn to $6.79bn in 2025. In February, Stripe was valued at $159bn in an employee tender offer, up from $91.5bn a year earlier.
Globally, Stripe also has offices in cities such as London, Paris, Singapore and Tokyo.
What Work Happens at the Dublin Headquarters?
Stripe runs global dual headquarters in San Francisco and Dublin. Dublin is the hub for operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and for developing products for Stripe globally.
That product work includes payments, Stripe Tax, and fraud detection tools. The wider company has built payments infrastructure covering functions such as billing and subscription management, tax compliance, fraud prevention, embedded finance and global treasury management.
The headquarters building is One Wilton Park, which tripled the Irish footprint to 14,500 square metres. Stripe’s dual global HQ at One Wilton Park officially opened on 9th October 2025. At that opening, the building was set to house expanding teams in engineering, product, operations, and sales.
The extra space would enable the next wave of growth and allow Stripe to continue hiring in Dublin, John Collison said in October 2025, adding that Stripe would pass 10,000 people that year.
Which Dublin HQ Roles Are on Stripe's Careers Pages?
Dublin HQ listings on Stripe's careers pages sit on teams including University, Sales, Security and Operations. The announcement does not say which postings belong to the 200 planned jobs, so treat these as examples rather than the new roles themselves. Examples include:
- Engineering. A Backend Engineer, Core Technology role, full time at Dublin HQ.
- Graduates. A Software Engineer, New Grad role on the University team.
- Students. A Software Engineer, Intern (Summer or Winter) placement listed as an internship.
- Sales. A Sales Development Representative role that requires German fluency and an Account Executive, Velocity SMB Hunter role.
- Operations. An Enterprise Support Specialist role on the Operations team.
The team description on each posting is worth reading. The account executive listing is based at Dublin HQ, but its team description places it on the UK SMB Hunter team, which wins net-new business across the SMB segment in the UK.
What Do the Dublin Engineering Listings Ask For?
The new grad software engineer listing asks for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience. New grad candidates should have no more than 18 months of professional experience (excluding internship experience).
The same posting asks for experience and familiarity with programming through side projects or classwork, experience from either previous internships or working collaboratively on multi-person coding projects (in a university or professional setting), the ability to learn unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems through independent research and working with a mentor or subject matter experts, clear written communication skills with the ability to explain your work to stakeholders, team members and other Stripes, and the ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs. Stripe works mostly in Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go, and new languages can be learned if the fundamentals and general knowledge are present.
The Backend Engineer, Core Technology listing is for experienced engineers. It asks for 6+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships or co-ops), the ability to write well-factored algorithms and experience with commonly used data structures and algorithms, hands-on experience contributing to or building large scale distributed systems, strong coding skills in any programming language, strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across workstreams within your team and contribute to your peers’ success, the ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility and think of yourself as entrepreneurial, and interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight both internal and external users.
Its interview process is language agnostic, and exact team matching will begin during final stages, across groups such as Core Infrastructure, Developer Infrastructure, Finance Systems and Secure Frameworks, and candidates may also be considered for different orgs based on experience and location. Interns, new grads and staff applicants are asked not to apply through this link and to use the specific postings instead.
What Do the Sales and Support Listings Ask For?
The Sales Development Representative listing involves qualifying leads, running outbound campaigns, cold-calling and moving solid leads through the funnel by connecting them to a salesperson. Its minimum requirements are fluency in German and English, a track record of top performance or prior success, superior verbal and written communication skills, a strong interest in technology, and being a self starter who can operate in a hyper growth environment. Experience at a high-growth tech company is a preferred qualification.
The Account Executive, Velocity SMB Hunter listing asks for proven success in a closing sales role focused on net-new business, or a customer-facing role such as solution engineering, implementation consulting or strategy consulting with demonstrated experience influencing commercial outcomes and executive decision-making. The same listing asks for experience managing outbound sales motions and building pipeline through a combination of SDR partnership and self-generated prospecting, or experience partnering closely with sales teams on account-based strategies that generate and progress new business opportunities, plus the ability to run high-velocity sales cycles while maintaining strong qualification, deal control and forecasting discipline. It also wants strong consultative selling skills and the ability to uncover customer needs, build business cases and align solutions to buyer priorities, along with the ability to understand technical concepts and communicate the value of multi-product solutions to both business and technical stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
The Enterprise Support Specialist listing asks for 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing product support role, with a focus on troubleshooting technical issues. The support listing also asks for proficiency in SQL for data analysis and querying with the ability to interpret datasets, experience working with APIs, excellent problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing complex issues and driving them to resolution, proven experience in stakeholder management with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive progress, experience in project management, particularly in optimising processes, workflows or support operations, and willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays with compensatory time off.
What Do Stripe's Dublin Listings Pay, and How Often Are You in the Office?
Each listing prints an annual salary range for its primary location, which is Dublin HQ for these roles:
- New grad software engineer. €64,000 to €96,000.
- Software engineer intern. €52,800 as both ends of the range.
- Backend engineer. €106,400 to €159,600.
- Enterprise support specialist. €64,000 to €96,000.
- Sales development representative. €56,560 to €84,800.
- Account executive. €112,000 to €168,000.
For sales roles, the range is the On Target Earnings range, which includes both the sales commissions or bonuses target and annual base salary. Each range may be inclusive of several career levels and is narrowed during interviews. Extra pay may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions, retirement plans, health benefits and wellness stipends.
On attendance, office-assigned staff in most locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users, an expectation that may vary by role, team and location. Staff in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Dublin work 100% from the office, and some teams have greater in-office requirements that the hiring manager will discuss.
How Do Graduates and Interns Get In?
Stripe's emerging talent program covers internship, apprenticeship and early career roles. Across the company, Stripe hires new grads, interns and apprentices across engineering, product, data science, design, finance, operations, and go-to-market teams, and programs span every education level from bachelor’s to PhD.
Internship interview scheduling typically aligns with local academic calendars, while full-time and apprenticeship roles are hired on a rolling basis, and Stripe recommends applying as early as possible.
The intern listing asks for a strong fundamental understanding of computer science through pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, math or a related discipline, and experience and familiarity with programming through side projects or classwork. The same listing asks for experience from previous internships or other multi-person projects, including open source contributions, that demonstrate evaluating and receiving feedback from mentors, peers and stakeholders, the ability to learn unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems through independent research and working with a mentor or subject matter experts, and the ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs. At least one year of university education, or equivalent work experience, is a preferred qualification.
GPA matters to Stripe and is factored into its review, though education is not the only way to demonstrate ability. Early career hires get a manager, a mentor and an annual education stipend for courses and conferences.
Internships can be a path to a full-time role at Stripe, but there’s no guarantee, according to Stripe's emerging talent page.
What Else Is Happening in Dublin's Tech Job Market?
The Stripe plan follows tech job cuts in Dublin. In an Irish Times opinion column, Social Democrats TD Eoin Hayes wrote that Meta announced 350 job losses in Dublin in May, with a further 720 jobs at risk at its contractor Covalen Solutions, 500 of these in AI annotation, and that Amazon’s Irish operations were facing up to 325 lay-offs earlier this year. He also argued that more AI-related cuts are on the horizon.
Workday is to cut jobs at its Dublin operation, with up to 80 roles thought to be at risk. The affected roles are understood to be in people management, and Workday is continuing to recruit for high-tech positions in Ireland, including AI software engineers, machine learning engineers and business development roles.
Social media companies TikTok and Meta were among those trimming jobs earlier in the year, and Oracle also cut jobs in Ireland this year.
What This Means for Job Seekers, and What Should You Do Next?
Stripe plans to create a further 200 new jobs, and the new roles will include engineering jobs and go-to-market roles. Stripe's Irish team grew by more than 35% since the start of the year, and Dublin HQ listings already cover engineering, sales, support and university hiring.
Recent or soon-to-be graduates can look at a new grad listing that caps professional experience at 18 months, excluding internships, and can also read what new grads should know as AI reaches entry-level jobs before applying. Sales professionals fluent in German and English can look at the German-speaking SDR listing. Experienced engineers and support specialists should read the experience floors closely, since the backend listing and the support listing set them in years.
Here is what we would do:
- Search by office. Check the office location on each Stripe listing and read the team description, since a Dublin HQ role like the account executive listing sits on the UK SMB Hunter team.
- Show AI judgement. The new grad listing asks for the ability to leverage AI tools while applying judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs, so bring an example.
- Know the pay range before interviews. Each Dublin listing in this guide prints its range, and for sales roles it is on-target earnings, which combine base salary and the commission target. Each range is narrowed during the interview process, so read up on how to negotiate salary in an interview beforehand.
- Apply early for internships. Internship interview scheduling typically aligns with local academic calendars, and Stripe recommends applying as early as possible.
- Apply even with gaps. Every Dublin listing in this guide encourages you to apply even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description.
