What their customers say

Quotes from people at First Nations Technical Institute's customers.

“I am absolutely thankful to FNTI for the sacred and safe space they create for their students and how we are empowered and uplifted all along this beautiful educational journey.”

Bradley Stone · SSW

“I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience within this course. I love how the culture was a big part of the learning environment. I felt very special and safe within the classroom which made learning a lot more enjoyable. Forever thankful. Miigwetch.”

Justin Francis · MHA

“This whole week has been transformational and healing. I feel like I have learned so much this week, and in a unique way that will allow me to hold on to that knowledge. This way of teaching was so compelling. I really loved how we incorporated smudge and ceremony, it was so healing! The demonstration of inter-generational trauma blew me away.”

Jenny Redman · SSW

“The teachings were amazing. Very easy to understand. I felt very comfortable in my group. It really feels like I am home. Miigwetch.”

Tamara Sutherland · SSW

“Throughout my time as a student at FNTI, I learned about how addiction and mental health issues affect our communities, as well as ways to begin to help our communities heal. This knowledge combined with my lived experience will help me work within my community to help others begin to walk the Red Road. I aim to work in a land-based treatment facility in the future so that I may help others with their recovery.”

“The morning circle ceremony is something I look forward to every day in class. It is a meaningful way to start the day. Smudging and prayer start the day in such a positive comforting way. Classmates are more of family than just classmates. I find it so important and rewarding to learn of the Indigenous culture. I share the knowledge I learn in this course, which I think many people need to know about, Canadian history.”

Samantha Halstead · MHA
