Description
The 1:1 Assistant provides individualized academic and social-emotional support to an enrolled student in a classroom setting under the supervision of a Nova Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. The role includes supervising the student in group settings, implementing behavior-management strategies, communicating with students, parents, and staff, maintaining attendance and documentation, and participating in meetings and trainings. It requires regular attendance, a high school diploma, and either a Washington State ECE Certificate of Specialization or 48 semester/72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university; experience supporting young children, children and families furthest from opportunity, or mental health, behavioral health, or special education is preferred. The position pays $22.76–$27.69 per hour for 32 hours per week and 164 days per year, and requires criminal-history and fingerprint checks, MMR vaccination or exemption, and a cleared TB test.
