Description
The 1st Class Shipfitter will assemble and fit ship components during maritime vessel construction, interpreting blueprints, preparing steel plates, beams, and pipes, aligning parts, and coordinating with welders, pipefitters, and supervisors. The role requires blueprint-reading and fit-up/tack-welding ability, physical work in confined and elevated spaces, and compliance with safety procedures. It follows a Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–4:30 PM and Friday 6:00 AM–12:00 PM schedule with built-in overtime, and includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and additional voluntary benefits.
