Huawei Ireland Research Centre is hiring a Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer in Dublin to lead video understanding and Vision-Language Model development for next-generation content intelligence systems. The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership of a small engineering group, covering multimodal frameworks, content tagging and knowledge graphs, production deployment, performance optimization, and integration into recommendation and discovery pipelines. Candidates need a master's or PhD in a relevant field, 5–8+ years of AI/ML research or advanced engineering experience, expertise in video understanding and VLMs, proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, and a record of deploying large-scale models in production.
