This entry-level applied-science role conducts numerical computations using third-party and in-house tools to evaluate the structural performance of components and systems. The professional develops and improves computational methods, produces models and results for structural parameters such as motion, stress, natural frequencies, design margin, life, and sound power, and provides design recommendations. The role also investigates product and system problems, documents results, collaborates with Design, Thermal Sciences, Materials, and Product Validation, and may coordinate technicians or temporary student employees.
