Skydance Animation is seeking a temporary freelance 2D Effects Animator to create magical and elemental effects for an upcoming feature film. The role involves designing hand-drawn and digitally composited effects, collaborating with the Visual Development team and Production Designer, establishing a consistent visual language, applying animation principles, and troubleshooting creative and technical effects challenges. Candidates need at least one year of 2D animation or visual development experience focused on effects, a traditional 2D animation background, and proficiency with relevant animation or compositing software. The position is available in California, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, the United Kingdom, or Spain, with a stated base salary of $115,000–$140,000 annually for eligible Los Angeles and Tri-State Area locations.
