Description
The Optical Fiber Draw Tower Operator operates fiber draw towers from a basket lift to convert glass preforms into optical fiber, controls furnace temperature, draw speed, and tension, measures fiber diameter and coating concentricity, applies and UV-cures coatings, inspects fiber quality, handles preforms, troubleshoots equipment, performs preventive maintenance, and documents production data. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least five years of manufacturing experience in a precision environment, automated-equipment operation skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and willingness to work nights and weekends. The position is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with high-temperature equipment, PPE, extended standing, and possible cleanroom or controlled-environment work.
