Description
The role operates and maintains MCVD lathes and gas delivery systems, prepares and works glass tubes, controls deposition and temperature parameters, performs changeovers and start-up/shutdown procedures, monitors production, troubleshoots issues, inspects preforms and core rods, documents process data, and performs routine maintenance and calibration. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a technical or associate degree and five years of manufacturing, fiber-optics, semiconductor, or chemical-processing experience preferred. It is performed in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment with exposure to high temperatures, gases, chemicals, and glass, and may require shifts, overtime, or weekends.
