Description
The Telecommunicator supports the Chippewa County Communication Center by receiving and assessing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police, fire, ambulance, and first-responder personnel and apparatus, maintaining unit status and location, coordinating emergency responses, answering public information requests, and providing court testimony when needed. The role operates 24/7 with 12-hour day or night shifts, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins. A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and Time System Certification within one year of hire are required; emergency services dispatch, 911, CPR, and Emergency Medical Dispatch training are preferred.
