Description
The Accessibility Specialist supports Pepperdine University’s Office of Student Accessibility by meeting with students with disabilities, reviewing medical documentation, determining reasonable accommodations, coordinating accommodations with faculty and administrators, preparing accommodation letters, supporting captioning and interpreter scheduling, maintaining confidential records, and assisting with exams and office procedures. The role requires a related master’s degree or two years of related experience, higher-education counseling or disability-studies experience, knowledge of disability theory and accommodations, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, assistive technology, and Accommodate/Symplicity software. It is a restricted, nonexempt, 40-hour-per-week position at the Malibu Campus with an expected pay range of $27.88 to $29.80 per hour.
