Description
The Accountant manages accounting and compliance for museum grants, pledges, specific-purpose funds, temporarily restricted gifts, and charitable gift annuities. Responsibilities include recording revenues and expenses, reviewing grant and donor restrictions, reconciling philanthropy activity to the general ledger, tracking debt interest and swap valuations, processing charitable gift annuity payments, supporting endowment investment activities, and serving as a backup for accounts payable, vendor management, and tax processes. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, three to four years of accounting or related experience, accounting software proficiency, and advanced Excel skills. The annual salary is $65,000-$70,000, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefits.
