Description
The Accuracy Control Engineer develops and maintains dimensional control systems for large ship structures, establishing measurement standards, control points, tolerances, alignment procedures, and verification processes from plate cutting through block erection. The role uses laser scanning, total stations, digital measurement tools, and digital ship models to support modular ship construction, reduce rework, and coordinate with fabrication, welding, quality assurance, and ship design teams. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, experience with large fabricated structures or industrial production systems, and strong analytical skills are required; shipbuilding, metrology, welding distortion, and digital integration experience are preferred.
