NPR is hiring a full-time, exempt State Advocacy Manager to lead grassroots campaigns supporting public radio stations across assigned states and territories. The role coordinates with advocacy and communications leadership, develops state advocacy plans and model legislation, monitors legislative and regulatory activity, translates policy impacts into plain-language materials, and organizes advocacy visits and stakeholder relationships. Candidates need 5–7 years of nonpartisan advocacy, government affairs, or campaign experience, along with communications, legislative education, and project-management experience; a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required. The position is hybrid, with at least three days per year in the Washington, D.C. office, and offers a $115,000–$125,000 annual salary plus benefits.
