Description
The Activities Director plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for residents in a long-term care facility. The role follows resident care plans, supervises and documents resident participation and responses, coordinates with facility departments, prepares activity areas, manages supplies and resident errands, protects resident health information, and supports residents’ physical, social, and mental well-being. It requires strong interpersonal skills, patience, English communication, independence, flexibility, and the ability to work with elderly, ill, disabled, emotionally upset, or hostile residents.
