Description
The Admissions Assistant coordinates intake, referral, and admission for clients entering social service programs. The role greets new clients and families, completes admission paperwork, maintains demographic, financial, and medical records, verifies insurance and eligibility, coordinates with hospital discharge planners and community agencies, and answers questions about facility programs and social support resources. A high school diploma is required, while an associate or bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field is preferred; at least one year of experience in social services, healthcare, or administrative intake is required, along with strong communication, empathy, attention to detail, and database or EHR proficiency.
