Description
The Admissions Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates admissions for an acute inpatient rehabilitation department. The role screens and evaluates patients, assigns functional independence and case-mix measures, develops discharge plans, coordinates prior authorizations and insurance verification, and maintains knowledge of regulatory and reimbursement criteria. It requires an associate’s or technical degree, an RN or licensed allied-health professional credential, and a Hospital Fire and Life Safety certification; a bachelor’s degree and five years of healthcare compliance experience are preferred.
