Description
The Adoption Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for individuals interested in adopting animals, guiding them through the adoption process, reviewing applications, matching animals with suitable homes, conducting meet-and-greets, and supporting foster-to-adopt arrangements. The role also represents the shelter at community events, educates visitors about responsible pet ownership, uses the Chameleon shelter software, and collaborates with shelter staff, volunteers, and the medical team. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, animal-handling ability, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a high-stress shelter environment; it follows a Sunday-through-Thursday schedule and requires weekend availability.
