Description

Stored Energy Systems is hiring an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Longmont, Colorado, to lead hands-on projects that develop and implement automation, digital manufacturing, smart factory, material-handling, and other emerging technologies. The role covers requirements development, proof-of-concept, vendor and integrator management, design, installation, validation, and production handoff, while partnering with manufacturing, quality, safety, IT, and continuous improvement teams. A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience, plus production-implementation experience, is required; the projected annual base salary is $103,000–$146,000, with an annual bonus and relocation assistance available.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Required Previous Experiences: Experience in advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field, including implementing new technologies in a production environment.
Experience developing technical specifications and managing automation vendors, equipment suppliers, and system integrators through implementation and production acceptance.
Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience programming or integrating PLCs, robotics, collaborative robots, machine vision, sensors, industrial controls, or automated equipment.
Experience with manufacturing system integration, APIs, SQL, Python, industrial communication protocols, or production data architectures.
Experience implementing smart factory or Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, connected equipment, automated data collection, augmented reality, machine learning, or predictive maintenance.
Experience with automated material handling technologies, including AGVs/AMRs, pick-to-light, electronic Kanban, digital replenishment, or intelligent material-flow systems.
Experience developing and justifying advanced manufacturing projects through ROI, labor savings, capacity improvements, quality improvements, and other measurable operational benefits.
