Description
Samtec is hiring an Advanced Packaging Engineer to conceive, architect, and mature next-generation optical and optoelectronic technologies. The senior individual contributor will develop packaging architectures, conduct feasibility and proof-of-concept studies, evaluate characterization and reliability data, contribute to technology roadmaps, partner with suppliers and research institutions, and mentor engineers. The role is upstream of production and does not include sustaining engineering or day-to-day manufacturing support. Required education is a bachelor's degree in electrical, materials, chemical, mechanical, or a related engineering field; an MS or Ph.D. is preferred. The position is available at Samtec's Vista Design Center in San Diego/Vista, California; Silicon Valley Design Center in Santa Clara, California; or Microelectronics facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with corresponding annual salary ranges and benefits.
