Hutco, Inc. is hiring an Advanced Shipfitter/Fabricator in Newport News, Virginia, for a variable shift from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM, Sunday through Saturday, at $45 per hour. The role performs multi-pass tack welding and fabrication of structural assemblies, reads complex structural drawings and blueprints, uses structural tools and equipment, and works in demanding shipbuilding and steel-fabrication environments. Applicants need at least four years of commercial or naval first-class Shipfitter experience, documented experience, and must pass a multi-pass tack welder qualification test using SMAW with MIL-10718-M (A-5A) filler metal. The position includes physical work involving lifting up to 50 pounds, confined spaces, and exposure to fumes and dust, with limited medical, dental, and vision coverage through Essential Staff Care.
