Description
Xcel Energy is hiring an Advanced Step Apprentice / Journeyman Lineman at its Ashland Service Center in Ashland, Wisconsin. The role installs, maintains, and removes overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment, including work on energized high-voltage systems, pole climbing, hot-stick operations, equipment operation, emergency callouts, and work in difficult weather conditions. Applicants must be at least a fifth-step apprentice, have distribution and transmission construction, maintenance, and operating knowledge, experience with utility line equipment, a Class A CDL, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the physical ability to perform line work. The position pays $49.82–$62.27 per hour, depending on step and qualifications, and includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and other benefits.
