Field AI is hiring an AI/ML Engineer for its Field Foundation Model (FiFM) team in Irvine, California. The role combines applied research and engineering to develop multimodal models for computer vision, video understanding, vision-language integration, scene understanding, long-memory video analysis, and agentic AI. Responsibilities include curating datasets, fine-tuning and evaluating large multimodal models, optimizing inference, building scalable evaluation and retrieval pipelines, and deploying models into production. Candidates need a master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience, at least two years of industry experience or relevant publications, and expertise in computer vision, video understanding, VLMs, Python, PyTorch, MLOps, and multimodal model training and deployment.
