Wati is hiring an Agentic Engineer – Voice AI to build and scale real-time voice AI capabilities on WhatsApp. The role develops WebRTC and LiveKit media pipelines, integrates OpenAI Realtime API and Google Gemini multimodal live models, and engineers ASR-to-LLM-to-TTS cascade architectures. Responsibilities include optimizing latency-critical infrastructure, building voice agent capabilities such as tool calling and multi-turn conversation management, and ensuring reliable, scalable production systems. The position requires at least three years of software engineering experience, backend development skills, real-time communication and AI/LLM integration experience, and familiarity with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
