Description

n8n is hiring an Agentic Engineering Platform Engineer to build and operate AI coding agents across its engineering organization. The role focuses on defining safe agent task categories, isolated execution environments, monorepo agent readiness, integration with Linear, GitHub, CI, testing, and review processes, and measurement of quality, safety, and adoption. It requires experience with autonomous coding agents, agentic development, software engineering, modern workflows, security, and cross-functional influence, and offers remote-first work with visa sponsorship to Germany.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience with autonomous coding agents, AI coding platforms, agent orchestration systems, or internal AI developer tooling
Practical experience building, deploying, or operating AI-assisted or agentic software development workflows
Strong software engineering background in platform engineering, developer experience, infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD, or engineering productivity
Deep understanding of GitHub, CI, testing, code review, monorepos, issue tracking, developer environments, and release risk
Strong judgment around permissions, secrets, sandboxing, sensitive code paths, and human-in-the-loop review
Experience designing benchmarks, quality signals, failure-mode tracking, and adoption metrics
Experience writing repo instructions, playbooks, PR evidence templates, technical proposals, and alignment documents
Credibility with senior engineers and cross-functional influence across Platform, Product Engineering, AI, Security, and Architecture
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large TypeScript, Node.js, or JavaScript monorepos
Experience with GitHub Actions, Linear, automated testing infrastructure, preview environments, or internal developer platforms
Experience with sandboxing, secrets management, least-privilege access, or sensitive code ownership
Experience creating evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or quality metrics for AI-generated code or automation systems
Experience contributing to open-source or source-available projects with active developer communities
Understanding of B2B SaaS environments involving reliability, permissions, data handling, and customer trust
