Plaud is hiring an AI Backend Engineer to build and operate realtime voice AI services, agent workflows, tool orchestration, memory, and multi-step reasoning systems. The role focuses on scalable, low-latency backend architecture, LLM/ASR/TTS integration, observability, automated testing, and end-to-end delivery while collaborating with Product, Applied AI, and mobile teams. Candidates need strong backend and distributed-systems experience, production engineering rigor, and hands-on experience with AI products; mobile, SDK, realtime audio, and frontend skills are strong plus qualifications. The position offers a $140,000–$172,000 base salary plus performance bonus and equity, healthcare, retirement matching, paid time off, and a hybrid office arrangement requiring at least three days per week in the office.
