Capital One is hiring an AI Engineer 5 to design, develop, test, deploy, and support production AI systems focused on large language models, foundation-model training and inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, and observability. The role involves optimizing model performance, cost, latency, throughput, and GPU utilization; leading technical design councils; mentoring senior engineers; and contributing to the long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems. Candidates need a relevant bachelor's or master's degree plus 4–6 years of AI/ML development experience and at least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
