Distyl is hiring an AI Engineer to build and operate production AI systems in customer environments. The role involves designing compound workflows combining LLMs, prompts, agents, tools, retrieval, evaluation, feedback, and execution; developing Python services; debugging and improving live systems; and collaborating with customers and subject matter experts. Candidates need at least five years of software engineering experience, experience building AI systems, strong Python and production software skills, and willingness to travel 10–30%. The role offers a base salary of $150,000–$250,000, equity, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in the office.
