Description

Insight is hiring an AI Engineer to design and implement production-grade AI agents and multi-agent systems, including tool and API integration, RAG pipelines, prompt guardrails, and evaluation loops. The role requires 6+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years leading technical delivery, along with expertise in C#/.NET, Python, React, TypeScript, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Foundry. The position is fully remote, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a base salary of CAD 150,000 to 160,000 plus bonus and benefits.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 6+ years of professional software development, including 2+ years leading technical delivery on client-facing or cross-functional projects
Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features to production, including tool/function calling, structured outputs, and multi-agent workflows
Experience building RAG pipelines with chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, and relevance tuning
Experience evaluating and securing LLM applications, including guardrails and prompt-injection defenses
Strong C#/.NET experience building production APIs and services, with Python experience where needed
Working knowledge of React and TypeScript for integrating front-end experiences with agentic back ends
Experience delivering Microsoft Azure solutions and building with Microsoft Foundry
Experience designing and integrating tools and connectors for agents
Experience operating as a consultant, scoping client work, communicating trade-offs, and adapting to different codebases and organizations
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Agent Framework or comparable agent frameworks
Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform and custom AI service integration
Experience with observability and tracing for LLM applications
Relevant Microsoft AI certifications
Contributions to open-source AI tooling or published technical writing
