SMX is hiring a full-time AI Engineer to support a government client at Camp Smith in Aiea, Hawaii. The role designs, develops, tests, and improves AI-enabled systems, workflows, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, LLM capabilities, AI agents, prompt systems, and decision-support tools that integrate organizational data and cloud environments. The position requires a current DoD Top Secret SCI security clearance, US citizenship for DoD contract work, a bachelor’s degree, and 5–8 years of relevant technical experience; military operational experience is strongly preferred. The proposed salary is $140,000–$173,000 USD, with health insurance and other benefits mentioned, and SMX does not sponsor employment authorization or immigration-related support.
