Description

Traversal is hiring a senior AI Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure to design, secure, and operate the core infrastructure supporting its AI products. The role focuses on AWS-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Python, autoscaling, observability, CI/CD, and security across large-scale, multi-tenant environments. It is a full-time, in-person position in New York with a base salary of $175,000–$300,000 plus equity and benefits.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 7+ years of experience at technically rigorous companies or teams
Experience operating cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure and applications at scale with >99.9% availability
Hands-on experience with AWS, EKS, Terraform, and Helm
Experience designing idempotent systems
Experience with incident response, chaos testing, and capacity planning
Strong debugging skills across infrastructure, compute, network, runtime, storage, and authentication layers
Preferred Qualifications: Service mesh, Envoy, Istio, Cilium, and eBPF
GPU workload operations, inference servers, and token streaming gateways
Production experience with Python, Rust, and TypeScript
Data governance, PII discovery and redaction, lineage, and tokenization
Cross-region active/active architecture design and deployment
Familiarity with GCP, Azure, and Oracle Cloud
