Extreme Networks is hiring an AI Principal Software Systems Engineer focused on AI infrastructure, distributed systems, microservices, and agentic systems. The role leads the architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations of scalable, secure, observable, and reliable platforms that process network and operational data and enable AI agents. Responsibilities include defining technical vision, leading software development, mentoring engineers, and improving engineering processes. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 10+ years of software development and programming experience, and 3+ years leading large-scale distributed systems; preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD and experience with generative AI, agentic systems, networking, and distributed data technologies.
