Description
Traversal is hiring an AI Research Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure supporting research on LLM agents, including experiment harnesses, evaluation pipelines, debugging tooling, and production-ready prototypes. The role partners with researchers to design experiments, evaluate agent behavior, and translate improvements into production systems. It requires 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, experimentation experience, Python and FastAPI skills, and experience with AWS, ECS or Kubernetes, Postgres, and S3. The full-time, in-person role is based in New York and offers a base salary of $180,000–$300,000 plus equity and benefits.
