Description
The Surgery Aide performs direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative setting under the direction of the Charge Nurse and operating room staff. Responsibilities include terminal cleaning and preparation of operating rooms, cleaning and restocking patient stretchers and beds, participating in suite turnovers, transporting specimens, labs, and blood, and transporting patients as directed. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic mathematical and analytical skills, teamwork and communication abilities, physical ability to lift and move equipment and patients, and the ability to perform routine clerical functions.
