Universal Quantum is hiring an AMO Theorist to design, model, and characterize atom-light operations, including sub-Doppler cooling, state preparation and detection, and quantum gates. The role involves developing physics models of atom-light interactions, collaborating with hardware teams to implement methods on devices, and analyzing experimental results against model predictions. Candidates should have experience with atom-light interaction protocols, a strong background in atomic physics research, collaboration experience with experimental or quantum hardware groups, Python coding ability, and a PhD in atomic physics.
