Google is hiring an Android USB Software Engineer to develop Linux kernel drivers, HAL, Android system-server, and bootloader software for USB-C controllers and Pixel devices. The role spans embedded systems, hardware abstraction, scalable USB architectures, upstream Linux contributions, and user-facing USB features, with collaboration across product areas and hardware teams. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, five years of software development experience, three years of embedded operating-system experience, and three years of software product experience; a master’s degree or PhD, open-source Linux USB experience, embedded Linux development, hardware-spec analysis, and DesignWare Controller experience are preferred. The position offers USD 174,000–252,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
