Description
The Animal Control Officer investigates animal cruelty and neglect complaints, enforces Alachua County animal services ordinances, impounds and transports animals, prepares investigative reports and citations, coordinates with other agencies, and performs euthanasia and rabies specimen preparation. The role requires high school education or equivalent, one year of relevant experience, a valid Florida driver license, a clean motor vehicle record, drug screening, physical examination, background checks, and completion of animal control and euthanasia certification courses. The position is an emergency essential classification and may require work during disasters or emergencies.
