Description

Synthesia is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and grow its Application Security team, which includes senior and staff-level security engineers. The role owns AppSec strategy and roadmap, technical security work such as threat modelling and agentic security tooling, team hiring and performance, operating rhythms, cross-functional alignment, and external security representation. Candidates should be security engineers who have progressed into leadership, with strong application security, Python, JavaScript, cloud, GitHub Actions, and people-management experience, and ideally prior Staff or Principal security engineering experience.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Hands-on application security experience in threat modelling, secure design review, SAST/SCA tooling, vulnerability management, and security automation
People management experience hiring, growing, and performance-managing security engineers
Led or significantly contributed to an application security programme in a fast-growing SaaS or AI company
Experience embedding security as a collaborative partner in a mature engineering culture
Preferred Qualifications: Kubernetes experience from an operational or security perspective
Familiarity with Semgrep, Wiz, CrowdStrike, HackerOne, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Actions, or StepSecurity
Prior Staff or Principal security engineering experience before moving into management
